Shops, Shops, and More Shops!

The Blossom Block Valentine’s Day Pop Up Shop was a great success. We had a wonderful time hanging out with friends, old and new. Over $1000 was put into our local economy by purchasing items by local artists. And I’m sure many Valentine’s days were made when loved ones opened their beautiful gifts that were carefully chosen from the wonderful items we had at the shop.

Here are some pictures from the fun.

I almost forgot!

In all the excitement of planning the next pop up I almost forgot to tell you how the last one went!

The Holiday Pop Up was a wonderful success!!

The facts: The shop produced over $3000 in profits for local artists and hundreds of people were brought in to a shop that was formerly vacant.

The anecdotes: Community members were able to enjoy a new space. Artists were able to show off their talents. Many people were able to learn about the exciting plans for the building. Neighbors could be seen meeting new people, chatting, and enjoying a cup of hot cider.

Thank you again to all that came in and enjoyed the shop! Please stop by again!

We’re at it again!

We will only be open for two days so make sure to mark it on your calendars!

Friday, February 10th from 4-6pm. The shop will be open with art and gifts from many local artists and businesses. Plus, there will be a chocolate happy hour!!

Saturday, February 11th from 10am-3pm. The shop is open and we’ve added a special space for kids activities including games, legos, and making their own valentines gifts for others!

Not sure what to get? Don’t worry! On both days we will have expert shoppers there to help you pick out the perfect gift!!

Don’t forget to thank our sponsors! AARP, who funded our Better Block weekend, is back again to help keep our storefronts filled and our downtown happy. 🙂

Winter Wonderland

Bethel was in a winter wonderland this morning. Even the reindeer were out frolicking in the snow!!

The Holiday Market has been open for two weekends now. The Randolph Herald featured the market in last week’s edition and even photographed a few of our shop keepers hard at work behind the sweets counter.

More items are being added every week so even if you have already stopped by be sure to come back for more hand made gifts and delicious sweets!!

There’s still more time if you would like to participate as a vendor, please contact us!

Phase One

The remodel of the Blossom Block is a big project and will potentially take over a year. However, it’s hard to wait that long in order to enjoy all this building has to offer. The solution? Pop ups!

Just like Bethel enjoyed during the Better Block weekend, the Blossom Block will be a host to a variety of pop up shops throughout the year starting with a special holiday version of Made in Bethel. Local artisans and crafters will have their items available for sale during the weekends between Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Last weekend a group of these artisans teamed up to plan the event. A big thanks to Dave at Bethel Village Sandwich Shop for letting us take up a whole room! Check back soon for more details. If you are interested in being a vendor please contact us!

Changing of the Guards

After 35 years of operating the Blossom Block in downtown Bethel, Nic Nikolaidis sold it to Kevin Barry on November 3, 2016. Stay tuned and check back often to see updates and for opportunities to share your thoughts on the building and its potential.

“Nic and Heidi have been fabulous stewards of the Blossom Block and a great asset to downtown Bethel. I’m excited to continue their vision of a vibrant and happy downtown.” –Kevin Barry
